Letter to Northwest Christian Community Foundation

Two Tunics is working in the Ugu District of KwaZulu-Natal South Africa partnering with local pastors and churches to care for people affected by HIV/AIDS in their community. A primary focus is to provide care, love and support to orphans and vulnerable children.

Through the generous donation from a NCCF organized advised fund called LGInternational children in South Africa now have a safe, dry day care center to spend their day. NCCF recently received the following letter and photos from the ministry of Two Tunics:

Earlier this year we received a donation from your organization for $2,500 towards our general fund. We would like to say thank you again for your generous donation and to let you know how we used the funds that NCCF provided to us.

Our organization Two Tunics is about sharing what we have with others in need.  One way we do this is through a program called Communities for Kids.  Through this project we reach needy communities and support local people who are trying to make a positive environment for children in areas that are suffering from the effects of HIV & AIDS.  One such lady is Nomopasika. 

When we first met Nomopasika she was living in a very small wooden shack and was caring for about 25 children in her shack.  She was providing care for these children overnight and even on weekends.  When it rained the house and all her belongings would get soaked and the mud would run under the door into the house. 

We decided we wanted to build a small day care for her to use for the children.  This was our first building project and the building cost $6,200 U.S. dollars. Of that $2,500 was from the donation from Northwest Christian Community Foundation and the LGIInternational Fund.

Through the gift of this building many lives have been touched. Children now have a safe, dry place to spend the day while their parents are at work. The parents who could not afford to send their children to a better facility are blessed to have a nice building near their homes.  Nomopasika and her many "children" have experienced God's love and kindness through the support of people like you who have a desire to change the world into a better place.
