Suggested Bequest Language

 The following are examples of statements that may be used as models in preparing a bequest or trust designation.  NCCF staff would be pleased to develop more specific language tailored to your specific needs.  Such collaboration will ensure that the correct legal language is used and that one's desires are accurately communicated.  For more information contact us at office@nccf4christ.org or 503-892-6264.

SPECIFIC BEQUEST -- UNRESTRICTED USE

"I give (the sum of $_______) (the following described property: ______________) to Northwest Christian Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public, nonprofit corporation authorized to transact business in the State of Oregon, with its offices at 7730 SW 31^st Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97219, to be used to further its purposes as the Board of Directors in their discretion may deem appropriate."

 SPECIFIC BEQUEST - ADDITION TO DONOR ADVISED FUND

"I give (the sum of $_______) (the following described property: ______________) to Northwest Christian Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public, nonprofit corporation authorized to transact business in the State of Oregon, with its offices at 7730 SW 31^st Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97219, to be added to the [Smith Family] Advised Fund.  These funds are to be administered  in accord with the fund agreement on file with the Northwest Christian Community Foundation.

SPECIFIC BEQUEST - TESTAMENTARY DONOR ADVISED FUND

(It is preferred that the reference in the estate plan document direct the funds/assets to an advised fund that is governed by a separate fund agreement on file with NCCF.  The advisors, purpose, and distribution plan are detailed in the fund agreement.  Testamentary donor advised fund is normally used when family members are the named advisors.)

"I give (the sum of $_______) (the following described property: ______________) to Northwest Christian Community Foundation, a 501(c)(3) public, nonprofit corporation authorized to transact business in the State of Oregon, with its offices at 7730 SW 31^st Avenue, Portland, Oregon 97219, to establish the [Smith Family] Advised Fund.  These funds are to be administered  in accord with the fund agreement on file with the Northwest Christian Community Foundation.
